Reporting to the Allied Health Manager, the Occupational Therapist plays an integral role in supporting patients' goals of returning home or to their community. This role thrives on interprofessional collaboration, respectful communication, and evidence-based clinical expertise to develop care plans aligned with patient and family goals, using shared decision-making and mutual support.

About the Opportunity
As part of the allied health team, you will work in a highly collaborative and results-oriented environment alongside Physiotherapists, Recreation Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians, Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners to support patients' functional goals for discharge home.
You will:
- Manage and prioritize your caseload while contributing to each patient's overall plan of care through consultation, assessment, intervention, evaluation, and follow-up across the site, patient homes, and community settings
- Work respectfully and collaboratively with patients, caregivers, families, and the interdisciplinary team to restore and maintain optimal function in self-care, productivity, and leisure
- Conduct comprehensive assessments using standardized and non-standardized tools to evaluate independence in activities of daily living, seating and mobility, swallowing and meal texture, skin integrity, and splinting needs
- Coordinate management and maintenance of mobility and adaptive equipment
- Design and fabricate adaptive equipment, utensils, splints, and orthotic devices while ensuring safe and effective use
- Document progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with professional and organizational standards
- Support team effectiveness by outlining work assignments, supervising team members, and contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and professional development
- Participate in performance management processes in collaboration with Human Resources
- Prepare reports, funding requests, and program statistics while maintaining accurate health records
- Contribute to a culture that is innovative, aspiring, and committed to continuous improvement
- Perform additional duties as required
About You
You are a respectful, collaborative healthcare professional who is passionate about helping patients achieve meaningful outcomes. You are committed to safe, professional practice and inspired by opportunities to be part of an innovative and evolving model of care.
You bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the provincial Association of Occupational Therapists
- Minimum one year of clinical experience
- Valid CPR & Emergency First Aid Certification
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology as related to occupational therapy practice
- Experience with adaptive equipment, mobility devices, utensils, and splints
- Experience using an Electronic Health Record system (an asset)
- Previous experience in acute care or a comparable environment (an asset)
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire
