Our presence in Ontario is expanding, and we are searching for various roles throughout the GTA, including an Intermediate Environmental Professional to work on environmental site assessment and remediation, and on-site and excess soil management projects. You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team of Engineers and Scientists focused on Geotechnical, Hydrogeological, Environmental, and Materials related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consulting services as an Intermediate Environmental Professional with the Contaminated Sites GTA team for public and private sector clients.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of scientific/engineering principals to environmental and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Manage and complete contaminated sites projects, including Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments, site remediation, risk assessments, on-site and excess soil management, and environmental compliance monitoring programs.
- Preparation of reports and proposals.
- Collaborate with other members of GEMTEC, to plan, design and execute environmental and multi-disciplinary projects of varying size and complexity.
- Support GEMTEC with business development and long-term strategic planning.
- Demonstrate a safety-first focus in the planning and implementation of projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate would be a highly versatile individual with the following qualifications and experience:
- At minimum, an undergraduate degree in related field (Environmental Sciences and/or Environmental Engineering).
- 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation and/or on-site and excess soil management, with working knowledge and practice of Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19.
- Eligibility for Qualified Person designation under O. Reg. 153/04 (e.g., P.Eng. or P.Geo.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage assigned projects, including scheduling, budget tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- A demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, as well strong organizational abilities, with respect to the capability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time with a view to delivery of a quality product on time and on budget.
- Experience in preparing technical and cost proposals.
- Experience in conducting, coordinating and managing field programs, including the management of project resources and budgets.
- Ability to manage business relationships with clients, regulators and service providers/sub-contractors.
- Experience working with federal government clients will be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such Word and Excel are required. Proficiency with other software, such as CAD, GIS, Surfer, gINT, and hydrogeology modeling software, will be an asset.
Position:
- Full time salaried position
- Must have a valid driver's license
Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 CAD per year
