Title: Administrative Assistant
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm
We're hiring an Administrative Assistant for a transportation client in the east end of Ottawa. This role requires strong organization skills, attention to detail, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and a professional approach to issue resolution while supporting daily administrative operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Locate overages, shortages, and damaged freight
- Handle many different types of freight, including Hazmat Materials
- Maintain a clean and organized OS&D area
- Prepare all paperwork and repackaging of all OS&D freight
- Research and resolve OS&D freight issues
- Maintain accurate records for reporting all OS&D Freight on a daily/weekly basis to service center management
- Manage driver's paperwork: manifest entry, arriving drivers, filing paperwork, scanning PODs, adding accessorial charges
- Assist with answering telephones, provide quality customer service, and resolve customer concerns efficiently
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, manifests, and PODs
- Ability to assist with researching and resolving freight discrepancies (OS&D)
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in administrative and customer service roles within an office or operations environment
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer applications
- Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills and the ability to multitask
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
