The Engineer I-IV is responsible for supporting North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Compliance for NB Power's conventional generation fleet within the Asset Management Group, supporting the reliable operation of critical systems, and to leverage generation data/analytics in support of reliable and efficient operation of the Generating Stations.
Key functions include:
• Implement, continuously improve, and provide oversight for compliance systems/process relating to the application of NERC and NPCC Reliability Standards to the Generating Stations and NERC standard FAC-003 for Transmission Vegetation.
• Support the reliable and effective operation of Distributed Control Systems, the PI System, generation reliability reporting system.
• Leverage data from PI, SAP-PM, and the generation reliability reporting systems to develop analytics/AI that drive improved decision making in support of the reliable and efficient operation of Generating Stations.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Four years of experience working in an industrial or utility environment
• Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate thoughts/messages and prepare technical documents
• Professional Engineer registered in the Province of New Brunswick or eligible for registration
• Experience working with the compliance of NERC and NPCC Reliability Standards can be an asset
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
