Job Description:

The Sustainable Finance & Advisory group at TD Securities is hiring for an Analyst position in Toronto.

The Sustainable Finance & Advisory group at TD Securities sits within Global Capital Markets and provides advisory and sustainable finance solutions to TD Securities' global client base. As TD Securities' central point of contact on integrating sustainability across the business, the Sustainable Finance & Advisory group works alongside our product and sector partner groups within Global Markets and Corporate & Investment Banking to deliver holistic client solutions and thought leadership.

  • Sustainable Finance & Advisory is a team with high visibility within both TD Securities and TD Bank Group. The position will provide an opportunity to gain experience in how sustainability related factors impact clients in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • We sit at the heart of the organization in Global Capital Markets, interacting with Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, and Research – as well as the broader TD Bank Group – Risk, Environment, and Treasury
  • Our flat organization and highly collegial structure has analysts sitting adjacent to senior bankers to foster learning, client interaction, and relationship building
  • You will play an integral role in developing internal relationships across TDS and TDBG to recognize environmental, social, and governance risks, analyze existing initiatives, and identify opportunities for collaboration
  • TD Securities Global Capital Markets business provides a strong and immersive mentorship program that will deliver all the tools necessary for you to succeed as a full-time analyst

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experienced analysts and recent university graduates
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Results-driven personalities, with proven academic excellence and strong interpersonal skills
  • High ethical and professional standards
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainability
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to lay out nuanced concepts clearly in written materials using PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Proactive and highly motivated personalities
  • Detail-oriented minds with intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and establish own priorities
  • Communication: timely updates, clear and concise messaging, asking relevant questions
  • Strong attention to detail: identifying and understanding transactional nuances
  • Self-driven, have pride of ownership in her/his work product, and show intellectual curiosity in financial market concepts

Beneficial Experience

  • SIE and Series 79 licenses. Those without these qualifications will be required to obtain them
  • Experience in sustainability and/or the financial industry, including familiarity with capital markets, accounting and corporate finance
