The Opportunity
As a valuable member of the Human Resources team, you will partner closely with departments to deliver proactive, effective, and responsive HR solutions. Acting as the first point of contact for leaders, you will provide expert advice and guidance while contributing to the design and delivery of strategic HR programs and initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong strategic partnerships with client groups and collaborate with HR colleagues to support operational needs.
- Lead and facilitate HR programs across the full spectrum of HR programs-including talent acquisition, labour and employee relations, workforce health and performance, total rewards, policy development, engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion-to enable a high-performing workforce.
- Champion organizational change and support the implementation of HR strategies, initiatives, and projects within client groups.
- Advise and coach leaders to strengthen managerial capability in areas such as performance management, application of collective agreements, workforce planning, organizational design, and complex employee matters.
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee concerns, including leading investigations, facilitating conflict resolution, and ensuring equitable and consistent application of progressive discipline.
- Foster a positive labour environment by proactively engaging union partners to address issues and resolve grievances.
- Ensure compliance with collective agreements, policies, and employment legislation while staying current on HR trends and best practices.
Your qualifications include:
- Undergraduate degree in Business or Commerce, with a focus in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 5 years' recent and related experience as a human resources professional. Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Master's degree and/or professional HR designation (CPHR or LINX-CP) considered an asset.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and high-quality customer service.
