The opportunity:

Seeking a motivated, organized, hard-working individual to fulfill the role of medical office administrator at a family medicine practice. The successful applicant will work collaboratively and maintain a high professional standard, particularly regarding confidentiality and privacy. They will have strong verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal skills including diplomacy, discretion, compassion, and sensitivity to patient needs. The successful applicant will demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills. They require proficiency with technology and electronic medical record software for scheduling, billing, and navigating patient charts. Training for the site-specific electronic medical record will be provided. Strong organizational and customer service skills are an asset in this role. The ideal candidate will have earned their medical administration certificate, have additional work experience in a healthcare setting, and be familiar with medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable:

  • Coordinates patient care through the clinic: checking in, prepping, escorting to exam rooms, and preparing exam rooms for the next patient.
  • Ensures exam rooms are stocked appropriately.
  • Answers inquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
  • Manages and maintains appointment schedule.
  • Manages incoming/outgoing communications.
  • Maintains electronic medical records via EMR software.
  • Processes faxes electronically.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Performs billing procedures.
  • Orders and receives office and medical supplies.
  • Prepares and processes clinic mail.
  • Performs all other related administrative tasks or special tasks.

Schedule & Location:

  • This full-time, permanent position requires on-site work four days per week (typically 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) excluding evenings, weekends, or STAT holidays.
  • The clinic is located at 115 Campbell Dr, Rothesay, NB
