The Stewardship Officer is a key member of our Development team, responsible for delivering a highly personalized, strategic, and thoughtful stewardship experience for the Foundation's donors. This role ensures donors feel deeply valued, meaningfully recognized, and clearly connected to the impact of their philanthropy.
Reporting to the Director of Leadership Giving, the Stewardship Officer leads the planning, coordination, and oversight of all donor recognition activities, including personalized stewardship plans, naming opportunities, donor cultivation and recognition events, physical and digital recognition elements, and impact reporting.
This role requires strong project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Develop and implement personalized stewardship plans for major and leadership donors, ensuring thoughtful, donor-centered recognition experiences that reflect donor intent and expectations
- Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of campaign recognition opportunities, ensuring strategies align with campaign objectives, donor commitments, and Foundation standards
- Plan, organize, and execute the Foundation's annual Donor Appreciation Event, as well as other donor cultivation and recognition events
- Project-manage the Foundation's impact reporting, ensuring reports are accurate, timely, and clearly demonstrate the outcomes of donor support
- Lead the annual donor wall update project, including content creation, donor listing confirmation, and coordination of updates
- Coordinate naming opportunities and agreements, ensuring recognition aligns with donor intent and Foundation and hospital policies
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage the design, production, and installation of donor recognition signage
- Lead the development and distribution of stewardship communications, including personalized thank-you letters, holiday and birthday cards, special reports, and other donor acknowledgements
- Coordinate stewardship mailing strategies, including segmentation, list personalization, mail merges, and printing
- Participate in and lead special projects related to stewardship, donor experience, and recognition as assigned
WHAT WE WANT TO SEE FROM YOU
- College diploma or bachelor's degree (equivalent experience will be considered)
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, and/or communications
- Passion for the mission of the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation and a commitment to donor-centered stewardship
- Proven ability to lead projects, work independently, and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience planning and executing high-end events
- Strong relationship-building skills with donors, volunteers, sponsors, and internal stakeholders
- Understanding of fundraising trends, donor stewardship best practices, and recognition programs
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Raiser's Edge fundraising software is considered an asset

- Starting salary of $50,000-$60,000 per year (37.5 hours per week)
