Purpose

Support in identifying and selling the appropriate Commercial Card product solutions to the Bank's Corporate clients including i) Commercial Card for Travel & Expense / Procurement / One Card; and ii) Visa Payables Automation. Contribute to the overall success of the Treasury Management Officer (TMO) in ensuring commercial cards specific client pitches, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the overall business strategies and objectives. Ensure that all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with Director, Commercial Card Solutions and TMO and act as a commercial card subject matter expert.
  • Champion a client focused culture to develop the most appropriate commercial card solution that enhances the overall client relationship and leverage internal and external stakeholder relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Work directly with TMO and GBM RM to develop and implement short- and long-term sales strategies to grow the commercial card portfolio by winning new mandates for clients and prospects, thereby achieving volume growth and revenue targets.
  • Contribute to the clients' and GTB business goals by providing the right commercial card solution, that retains and increases the overall profitability of the client relationship while maintaining an acceptable level of risk.
  • Proactively plan and lead client meetings to provide leading industry knowledge and solutions relating to commercial card strategies. Advise clients on strategies for program expansion. Follow business unit approved marketing guidelines and prepare pitch deck materials to showcase the recommendations through formal pitch presentations and meeting consults.
  • In collaboration with TMO and GBM RM, grow, expand and retain existing commercial card programs and handle customer requests in reference to growth of commercial card programs.
  • Lead product onboarding of new commercial card clients by coordinating with internal partners (TMO, Corporate Banking, Program Management, Operations, Product Management, GBM Onboarding).
  • Collect and distribute information relating to client and market trends as well as timely dissemination of updates relating to product, pricing, etc. Identify potential opportunities in product offerings and work closely with product managers to drive innovation and or development of complementary products.
  • Identify and provide risk mitigation strategies such that, the risk of any commercial card program is within the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Pursue effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls meets obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in the commercial card and payments industry, and/or client facing sales in financial services or technology sectors.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in business or related field, in addition industry designation (e.g.) an asset.
  • Proven ability to be detail oriented in transaction documentation and client facing materials.
  • Must be an experienced sales professional with exceptional interpersonal, leadership, sales, negotiation, strategic influencing and business development skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record in building relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Proven negotiation and active listening skills. Critical and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals as a proven top individual contributor.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – Spanish/French fluency an asset
