WorkSafeNB is seeking to fill a one-year temporary assignment of Accounting Services Coordinator in the Accounting Services team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Accounting Services, the Accounting Services Coordinator provides support to the Accounting Services team to achieve identified results within the context of the divisional operational plan and WorkSafeNB's strategic plan. They monitor operations and ensure quality control, and effectively coordinate the team's work that allows for superior service.

Your key areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Coordinate the processes, controls, performance objectives and measures of the Accounting Services team to maximize productivity, business performance and efficiency, and ensure quality control while delivering superior service.
  • To monitor, evaluate, analyze, and provide advice and reports on various issues and metrics to the Team Lead and other leaders to assist with transparency, decision making and financial statements.
  • To perform, test and approve IT changes as well as recommend and request IT changes related to the Accounting Services department.

You, as a successful candidate, possess:

  • Minimum 2-year program specializing in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years in accounting experience is required.
  • Knowledge of legislation and best practice in areas of accounting, finance and tax law (HST and T5007).
  • Knowledge in Financial Processing.
  • Knowledge in leadership.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

This is a hybrid position, and the successful candidate will be asked to work at head office in Saint John regularly based on the schedule. Your primary workspace will be from your in-home office, with the expectation of in-person meetings, for that reason, working from outside the province or country is not permissible.

Pay Scale $68,579.70 to $80,682.00

WorkSafeNB administers no-fault workplace accident and disability insurance for employers and their workers, funded solely through assessments on employers. All employers having three or more workers are obligated to obtain compensation coverage.

WorkSafeNB is committed to preventing workplace injuries and illness through education and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

WorkSafeNB is administered by a board of directors consisting of the chairperson, a vice-chairperson, the president and CEO (non-voting member), the chairperson of the Appeals Tribunal (non-voting member), five members representing workers, and five members representing employers.   • Represent stakeholders and provide recommendations and advice to government with respect to legislation, and publish such reports, studies, and recommendations WorkSafeNB considers advisable.

Assessments are affected by the level of activities in the province's workplaces, as are the resulting claims. There are also substantial assets that ensure WorkSafeNB will be able to provide the ongoing benefits promised to injured workers through a wage loss recovery insurance system. These funds are invested in the financial markets and investment returns are subject to the ups and downs of the marketplace.
