Term: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: Based on education and experience
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours weekly

Who we are: The Rising Sun Treatment Center is a 10-bed healing space providing trauma-informed and culturally grounded Addictions services. Located in Natoaganeg First Nation (Eel Ground), we are a partnership of 11 participating communities in New Brunswick. Our programs assist clients on the red road of recovery with an approach to wellness that is grounded in Indigenous healing practices and philosophies.

Position Summary: Rising Sun Treatment Centre is seeking a candidate to join the team as an Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Director, this position is the first point of contact for clients and community contacting the Rising Sun via in-person, phone and email. This role provides administrative support to the Executive Director, Rising Sun staff and community partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the first contact by answering phone calls and responding to emails
  • Responsible for managing the confidentiality agreement for all in-person visitors
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism in all interactions with clients, referrals and community members
  • Provides administrative support to the Executive Director and all staff
  • Maintains accurate inventory of office supplies and program resources
  • Takes a supportive role in the coordination of meetings and events with minute taking
  • Maintains administrative records following organizational procedures
  • Aids the Director with staff schedules, leave requests and timesheets
  • Assists the Intake Team by entering confidential data into the AMIS database
  • Completes basic financial tasks including receiving invoices, receipts and creating cheque requisitions for review by the Director
  • Drafts internal and external communications as required, including updates to website content
  • Assists clients and community partners with clerical support as needed
  • Ability to perform other requests as required

Knowledge, Education and Training:

  • Certificate or diploma in the field of Administration and one-year direct work experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism related to confidentiality
  • Experience working in a Mental Health and Addictions setting considered an asset
  • Trauma-informed approach related to all communications
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office (O365) products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated professionalism related to administrative duties
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Successful criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification and non-violent crisis intervention certification
  • Ability to work in a team environment with cooperation and cultural awareness
  • Knowledge of Mi'kmaq language and culture considered an asset
