Site Description:

St. Clair College's South Campus is the main campus and serves as a hub for academic programs, student services, and administrative offices. The campus includes multiple academic buildings, student residences, athletic facilities, and parking areas. It is a high-traffic environment with students, faculty, staff, and visitors present throughout the day.

Position: Part-Time Security Guard
Site: St. Clair College South Campus, 2000 Talbot Rd. W

Hours: Sat/Sun 0700-1500
Payrate: $21.02
Overtime: Averaging Agreement over 88 hours
Internal Posting Date: 1/16/2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist visitors, and employees during crisis and contact the necessary emergency services as needed
  • Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly
  • Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols (exterior and Interior), and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
  • Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the public
  • Ability to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources.
  • Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
  • Ability to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person
  • Maintain positive and constructive relationships with The Client's staff and external clients by providing timely and accurate support as required.
  • Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client.

Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
  • Full G driver's license
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
