As the Deputy Chief Pilot based in Montreal, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities. Your primary duties will include:

  • Reporting to the Chief Pilot on all base-related issues, including pilot duties, training, and scheduling.
  • Collaborating with the Maintenance Department to ensure aircraft serviceability aligns with operational requirements.
  • Liaising with external agencies for base-related operational activities.
  • Upholding compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Aviation Occupational Safety and Health (AOSH) regulations.
  • Managing and maintaining necessary supplies for the base.
  • Conducting regularly scheduled audits as assigned by the Quality Department.
  • Helping in resolving operational disruptions.
  • Serving as the Base Aviation Safety Officer.
  • Line flying duties.
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensuring that the flight crew's schedule adheres to CARS requirements regarding duty time, flight time, or time free from duty.
  • Executing approved flight crew training programs (ground and flight training)
  • Administering all matters concerning pilots, pilot training, examinations, competency tests, enroute operations, and operating limitations of aircraft and crew.
  • Processing and acting on any flight crew reports.
  • Managing flight crew administration, including working conditions, time-off, and other personnel issues.
  • Ensuring that pilots' training is completed and files are fully updated
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Airline Transport Pilot License.
  • Valid Category 1 Medical.
  • Bilingual (French/ English).
  • Prior experience in aviation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
