At NB Power, we are a team committed to offering the best customer experience, ensuring energy security, and accelerating a sustainable clean energy transition. Why? Because we're New Brunswickers too, we care about our customers and future generations, and today we are actively looking for a new member to join us.

The Emergency Services Response Plan (ESRP) provides a coordinated, cross-functional framework to guide our organization's response to events that threaten the safe and reliable delivery of electrical power through the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) grid, beyond the scope of routine operations.

The T&D Emergency Preparedness Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating T&D response to emergency events affecting the electrical grid. This role designs, implements, and continuously improves the emergency response plan, integrating the Incident Command System, provincial emergency preparedness planning, and data-driven improvements. The Specialist ensures readiness and communicates risks.

Key functions include:
• Design, implement, and maintain the T&D emergency response plan in alignment with the Corporate Emergency Preparedness Program.
• Collaborate with NB Emergency Measure Organization (EMO) and Office of the Provincial Security Advisor (OPSA) for critical infrastructure, training, information sessions and after-action reviews.
• Monitor weather and Operations Planning and Reliability Office (OPRO) daily and advise the leadership team when response options need to be discussed.

Our ideal teammate will have:
• University degree in Business Administration, Emergency Management or equivalent
• Four years of experience in emergency planning and response, leading documentation, training, and coordination of Emergency Operations teams, including managing incident reporting, data analysis, process improvement, and executive-level communications during emergency events.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt would be considered an asset

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
