The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance Engineering & Reliability Team in Long Harbour, NL. Relocation to the province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this role.
This is a permanent on-site position, working a 4x10s Monday to Thursday schedule at our Long Harbour Operations Site.
As a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for on-site technical maintenance support, engineering, screening/scoping, repair scopes of work, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Long Harbour Processing Plant. Your experience and skills will aid in conducting and coordinating engineering field and/or integrity assessments to make sure the assets are running without defects.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, and provide technical guidance on repairs or upgrades to electrical distrubution systems, instrumentation equipment, PLC and DCS based control systems.
- Conducts initial screening and scoping for engineering requests providing recommendations for electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, motors, VFD's, PLCs, etc.) as required to support improvements.
- Develop and manage reliability programs for electrical infrastructure in the facility such as multi-year maintenance plans, infrared thermography, motor management, and transformer oil analysis, for example, and be responsible for program success by development of all procedures, tools, and resources required
- Supports the maintenance management teams to ensure the work packages are executed as per design.
- Identifies and escalates all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their Required End Date.
- Monitors KPIs and actively strives towards plant targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

About You
Education:
- A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree is required.
- A Professional Engineering Designation (P. Eng) from PEGNL is preferred or the ability to be registered.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of Electrical Maintenance Engineering experience.
- Previous experience in instrumentation and automation would be an asset.
Skills:
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Able to provide electrical engineering expertise and technical guidelines to their team.
- Keeps up to date with research and knowledge regarding new technologies.
- Able to work with minimal supervision while acting like a mentor to more junior employees.
