Overview
The Production Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating feed production and logistics to ensure timely delivery to aquaculture farms. This role acts as the primary liaison between internal teams, external customers, and transportation providers. Key responsibilities include production scheduling, documentation, inventory management, and maintaining strong communication channels to support continuous plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact with Cooke's Regional Production Managers and Warehouse Managers to understand feed and warehousing requirements.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to manage immediate needs and long-term forecasts.
  • Build and maintain the plant's production extruder list based on feed forecasts.
  • Create shop orders and shipping documents, ensuring a minimum of 72 hours of production plans are in place.
  • Prepare U.S. shipping and export documentation for cross-border shipments.
  • Coordinate outbound logistics schedules and communicate weekly plans to carriers; update schedules as needed.
  • Maintain continuous communication between truck carriers and plant production to ensure smooth flow and adequate warehouse space.
  • Follow up on orders to confirm shipment, receipt, and billing accuracy.
  • Conduct monthly finished feed inventory counts and collaborate with the Controller on adjustments.
  • Order packaging supplies (empty totes, 25 KG bags, labels, pallets) to maintain production flow.
  • Ensure timely feed delivery to farms-preventing any feed shortages.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in production coordination or logistics.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of feed manufacturing or related industry preferred.

Working Conditions
Office and plant environment with exposure to noise and production equipment. Use of PPE and adherence to hygiene and safety protocols is mandatory.
