Procurement and Administrative Coordinator

(Temporary Position)

The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator (C-NLOER) invites applications for the temporary position of Procurement and Administrative Coordinator. Reporting to the Purchasing and Property Services Lead in the Corporate Services Department, the Procurement and Administrative Coordinator:

  • Prepares estimates and obtains quotes for purchasing of goods, materials and services, predominately focused on IT-related equipment, software and services
  • Conducts research on potential products, vendors, and services
  • Tracks details pertaining to shipping and delivery and liaises with vendors to resolve issues
  • Processes invoices, packing slips and approvals
  • Processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Maintains inventory of general consumable supplies and assists with the procurement of other goods and services as needed
  • Collaborates with the Regulator's Legal Services Department to review and draft contract documents
  • Assists in the preparation of RFIs, RFPs, contracts and approval memos
  • Assists in the evaluation of quotes & bids
  • Assists with C-NLOER annual report preparation
  • Carries out other related administrative duties as required

What we are looking for:

  • Degree or diploma in business administration or a related field
  • At least one year experience in a purchasing role, preferably some experience purchasing IT hardware and software
  • Knowledge of procurement and inventory control policies
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, efficient organizational skills and detail-oriented

The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator (C-NLOER) is the independent agency originally created as the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) in 1986 by the federal and governments under the Atlantic Accord Implementation Acts. Legislative amendments that came into effect in 2025 expanded our mandate to include offshore renewable energy and changed our name. The C-NLOER regulates oil and gas exploration and development and will regulate future renewable energy projects in the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Area. Our mandate includes oversight of worker health and safety, environmental protection, resource management and industrial benefits.
