Job Description:

The TD AI Platform team focuses on building & delivering secure, stable and scalable AI capabilities & solutions that are enterprise ready to serve our customers and colleagues. We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering to build & lead a team focused on delivering AI solutions for business across the enterprise.

As a Senior Manager, Engineering, you'll play a pivotal role in solutioning and delivering GenAI and Agentic solutions & capabilities that unlock value across the organization. You'll work at the intersection of emerging tech, scalable platforms, and real-world business problems—partnering with teams across the enterprise to prioritize, plan, and deliver use cases that truly make a difference.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a high-performing team of technology professionals focused on delivering parallel GenAI & Agentic use cases for one or two enterprise segments (e.g. Wealth, Business Banking, TD Securities, etc.), ensuring scalable and secure implementation
  • Lead the development of high-level solution designs for GenAI and Agentic use cases, leveraging, optimizing or building platform capabilities, to enable scale and efficiency.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams – from business and product owners to data scientists, enterprise architects and developers – to understand use case needs and align on solution.
  • Drive the successful execution across multiple initiatives & pods (3-5), in parallel, managing technology delivery timelines, risks, and interdependencies with confidence.
  • Serve as a trusted technology partner, helping internal stakeholders navigate AI opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborate with the AI Platform capability team to continuously enhance our AI platform's capabilities and accelerate use case delivery.
  • Build, mentor and inspire a talented team of system analysts, software engineers and data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning. This would be reflected in your annual TD Pulse scores (employee survey) scores.
  • Achieve strong operational reliability across delivered solutions (per defined enterprise scorecard).
  • Improve engineering productivity through standardized patterns, automation, and tooling adoption.

CUSTOMER

  • Execute introducing engineering tools, methodologies and processes across the enterprise
  • Accountability to understand the current skills and capabilities, actively working to close gaps that may exist through additional learning, coaching, supports etc.
  • Leverage deep technology expertise for own area of specialization to deliver and ensure that all areas across the organization that provision, manage and support various technologies have the necessary tools, processes and documentation required to effectively execute on their respective mandates
  • Execute on Engineering strategy as it relates to the introduction of tools and the automation of build, test, release and configure activities across Application, Platform and Infrastructure
  • Partner with the Operations team to automatically integrate with appropriate tools and processes as part of automated/self-serve Application, Platform or Infrastructure releases
  • Act as the expert or lead innovator and agent of change for the programs and services under management
  • Lead interface with other technology teams to implement best practices, standards and management
  • Work with vendor platform providers and engineering peers to keep abreast of trends, products, frameworks, and applications
  • Identify and effectively manage stakeholder engagement and impacts across the enterprise
  • Engage executive stakeholders appropriately to review progress and obtain input, validation and approval of key decisions
  • Anticipate client needs to influence the development of innovative engineering solutions as well as business strategies

What You Bring

  • University or post-graduate degree
  • Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Proven experience delivering complex technology initiatives in an enterprise environment across multiple workstreams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills—able to translate between technical and business audiences with ease.
  • Strong team leadership and collaboration abilities; you inspire trust, empower others, and deliver results.
  • A proactive mindset with a bias for action, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in senior leadership roles of data engineering or software engineering.
  • Strong understanding of data platform architectures, data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline design.
  • Strong understanding of designing and implementing distributed software applications.
  • Experience with designing and implementing large-scaled data processing pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure (preferred) and big data technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Spark, Java, SQL or Scala.
  • Understanding of AI/ML platforms, with bonus points for exposure to GenAI & Agentic technologies (e.g. LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, MCP, etc.).
