In this role, you will :

  • Serve as the primary system architect for the fundraising and CRM ecosystem and all integrated applications.
  • Act as the data governance and process steward for Philanthropy, defining, enforcing, and continuously improving data standards, workflows, and documentation.
  • Lead initiatives to modernize donation processing, reducing manual reconciliation, improving data quality, and strengthening trust between fundraising and finance reporting.
  • Plan and deliver system enhancements, integrations, and automation initiatives that drive measurable improvements in efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the Business Systems team, setting priorities, managing capacity, and balancing competing demands in a matrix environment.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements, working closely with internal teams and vendors through build, testing, and release.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and compliance risks through sound system design, controls, and governance practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Philanthropy to ensure systems evolve in alignment with fundraising strategy, donor experience goals, and regulatory obligations.

What we are looking for :

  • 7+ years of progressive experience managing complex CRM, ERP, or fundraising systems and integrated business applications in a mid-to-large organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in system architecture, data management, and data governance, including defining standards, stewardship models, and controls.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a small, diverse team, including setting direction, managing competing priorities, and coaching through change.
  • Strong experience translating business process designs into functional requirements and technical specifications and guiding solutions from concept through delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise fundraising CRM platforms, with experience in the Blackbaud ecosystem (e.g., Blackbaud CRM, Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, Luminate, or related tools) strongly preferred. Experience with comparable nonprofit platforms and donation technologies will also be considered an asset.
  • Practical exposure to online donation platforms and digital fundraising tools (e.g., Fundraise Up, Classy, JustGiving, or similar) is considered an asset.

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Solid understanding of fundraising data models, financial reconciliation processes, and regulatory/compliance requirements (highly preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is an asset.

Working Conditions :

  • Requires significant attention to detail and concentration and ability to mentally process large amounts of information.
  • The work pace is often unpredictable with significant time pressures and ability to adapt to frequent and often urgent changes in priorities.
  • Will be required to work extended hours during peak periods on short notice.
