Job Description:

The Security Operator plays a key role in overseeing a modern healthcare Control Centre. Responsibilities include monitoring fire and life safety systems, access control, and CCTV; coordinating and deploying security staff; and managing dispatch and incident call-taking.

  • Dispatch Security Guards to incidents, emergencies, and assistance requests
  • Control access to and from the property
  • Log radio transmissions, phone calls, and verbal instructions
  • Direct backup support when required
  • Notify management of major incidents
  • Maintain the camera surveillance system
  • Answer all incoming security phone lines, including emergency lines
  • Ensure operations follow established policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • No security license required
  • Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, and TB (Step 1 & 2)

  • KHSC Immunization Forms required
  • Full MMR-V and Pertussis immunization must be complete at time of hire
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C (WSIB-approved)
  • Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Minimum 6+ months experience in a control center/dispatch role (healthcare/security an asset)
  • Strong professionalism, attention to detail, and observational skills
  • Excellent English communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make sound decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and teamwork
  • Proficiency with computers, phones, and surveillance systems preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
