JOB PURPOSE:

As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will:

  • Provide quality daily care that supports residents' physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
  • Promote dignity, comfort, independence, and safety.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility)
  • Supporting residents with meals, hydration, and feeding as required
  • Engaging residents in activities that enhance quality of life
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment
  • Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff
  • Assist with mobility, lifts, and transfers using safe techniques

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nova Scotia CCA certification, or willingness to obtain CCA license upon hire
  • One year of related experience preferred (unless graduated from a Nova Scotia CCA program)
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check prior to hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Compassion, patience, and respect for the elderly.
  • Language of Work: English (CLB5). French considered an asset.
