Where You'll Work
This is a hybrid role based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. You'll work from home most of the time, with occasional in-office days for collaboration, meetings, or team events. Candidates must be located in or near the Fredericton area.
What You Will Do
We are searching for a Software Developer to join our growing Software team within our Technology and Innovation function. This position offers an annual salary range of $65,000-75,000 CAD base salary, depending on experience.
In the Software Developer role, you will design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge applications that drive business success and deliver exceptional user experiences. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, write clean and efficient code, and stay ahead of emerging trends to ensure our products remain at the forefront of the industry.
In this role, you will have key responsibilities, such as:
- Build and maintain web and mobile applications (front-end and back-end).
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Implement APIs and integrate third-party services.
- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
- Other duties as required.
What You'll Bring
If you are a collaborative, detail-oriented, and highly dependable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment this could be perfect the role for you! Additionally, you bring skills and experience such as:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of experience in full-stack development building web and/or mobile applications
- Strong experience with React, Node.js, and Java
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and RESTful API design
- Experience developing and deploying in Linux-based environments (command line, Bash)
- Familiarity with Azure, Git, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Spring, C++, or C#
- Exposure to hardware or device integration (e.g., Bluetooth or serial communication)
- Familiarity with message-based systems (such as RabbitMQ) and security best practices
- Interest in or experience supporting AI-powered features or solutions
