Job Description
What is the opportunity?
The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for managing a team of business analysts and work as a Business Analyst on initiatives. The incumbent will often engage in strategic planning, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure that the team effectively analyzes and translates business requirements into actionable solutions. Additionally, this role will require them to take on a supervisory role, guiding and coordinating the work of other business analysts.
What will you do?
Conduct user story workshops and prioritize user stories based on business value and feasibility.
Work closely with the development, vendor, and Test Manager team to conduct frequent testing and quality assurance activities during each sprint.
Prioritize and manage changes to the product backlog based on business value and impact.
Support Architects and Dev teams in designing and implementing technical solutions.
Support PMs, Product Owners and Scrum Masters in planning and executing projects.
Continuously analyze and document requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in a product backlog
Collaborate with developers to write user stories and acceptance criteria in a clear and concise manner.
Provide training and support to end-users during each sprint as new features are released.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
8+ years of practical Business Analysis experience
Must have strong understanding of Capital Markets products and ideally Risk Management. Products include Derivatives, Securities Finance, Fixed Income, Money Market and Equities
Relevant Business Systems Analyst experience in a large-scale banking context (4 or more years of relevant experience in this role).
Must have SQL skills (ability to read and write queries for data handling, differences in joins, etc.)
Ability to gather functional business process requirements and contribute to translating user requests into technical specifications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent Analytical thinking skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Risk certifications & Business Analysis Certification (i.e., FRM, CBAP, CFA, CSM, etc.)
Working experience with various asset classes such as Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, Money Market Instrument and OTC Derivatives
Working experience with databases and data repositories.
Team player known for providing creative thought leadership while also listening to, and engaging others.
