We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Fredericton, NB . This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to grow within the accounting profession. No prior accounting experience is required - just a strong aptitude for numbers, a commitment to learning, and a proactive mindset.
Working under the guidance of senior finance team members, the Junior Accountant will support a broad range of finance functions, including:
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims
- Reconcile corporate Mastercard statements and record related expenses
- Support billing activities
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clients
General Ledger and Month-End
- Assist with bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end closing tasks (e.g., amortization, prepaid expenses, revenue recognition)
- Prepare and post journal entries as directed
- Maintain accurate, organized records of all financial transactions
Other Duties
- Perform GST/HST/PST/QST reconciliation and filing
- Assist with audits by preparing supporting documentation
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as required
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Required:
- Strong numeracy and comfort working with data
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Clear communication skills and willingness to ask questions
- Strong motivation to learn and develop accounting skills
Nice to Have:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
- Familiarity with accounting practices
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems like Salesforce or Payworks
