Purpose
The Manager, Payables & Receivables contributes to the success of Business Payment Products in Canada by ensuring the effective execution of individual goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with the team's business strategies and objectives. This role ensures all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You'll Do:
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank capabilities.
- Oversee a suite of payment products to drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction by:
- Collaborating with Technology, Sales, and AML/Risk teams to define and communicate product vision.
- Monitoring product performance, resolving issues promptly, and providing updates to stakeholders.
- Owning end-to-end process maps and ensuring accountability across stakeholders.
- Identifying product gaps based on customer needs, competitive offerings, and market trends.
- Managing product marketing and communications for customers and internal teams.
- Acting as a subject matter expert and providing thought leadership.
- Review financials, KPIs, and market trends to:
- Identify product opportunities and challenges.
- Own the product P&L and recommend business objectives based on data insights.
- Collaborate with pricing and operations teams to optimize revenue and efficiency.
- Maintain a robust market intelligence program, including competitive analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Validate special pricing requests and RFP opportunities.
- Lead the delivery of approved projects by:
- Overseeing design and implementation of new digital payment products and features.
- Operating within Agile frameworks for digital initiatives and waterfall methodologies as required.
- Developing business cases from concept through executive approval.
- Engaging and influencing stakeholders to manage prioritization and change delivery.
- Preparing timely updates, reports, and presentations for executives and partners.
- Driving project milestones with urgency and challenging the status quo to improve product profitability.
- Ensure adherence to the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in all decisions.
- Maintain strong business controls to meet operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.
- Foster a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative workplace.
What You'll Bring:
- Self-starter with confidence and initiative; able to manage evolving priorities while identifying new opportunities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with payments, industry trends, innovative digital platforms, and related policies and procedures.
- Deep understanding of product/service lifecycle and management principles.
- Positive attitude and confidence to drive team priorities and influence outcomes.
- Knowledge of the Bank's application systems and their interdependencies.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- University degree in business, economics, or technology; MBA considered an asset.
