Role Summary:

As the Manager of Accounting- 12 Month Term, you will play a pivotal leadership role within our Accounting & Finance Department, reporting to the Director of Finance. You'll oversee a dynamic team of three professionals, guiding their development and fostering a collaborative, result-driven environment. Your day-to-day will blend hands-on financial management with strategic oversight, as you lead the monthly and quarterly close processes, focusing on accounts payable, accruals, fixed assets, inventory, and deferred revenue. You'll ensure accuracy and compliance through the preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and the generation of financial statement packages for senior leadership.

A key aspect of this role will be driving the integration and ongoing management of NetSuite with our legacy systems, leveraging your expertise in cloud-based accounting software and your forward-thinking approach to modern finance solutions-including Generative AI. You'll oversee the entire inventory process, from purchase orders to data maintenance and reconciliation, and play a critical part in vendor management, payment runs, and AR invoicing. Your analytical thinking and decision-making skills will be essential as you contribute to the development, monitoring, and enforcement of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls in partnership with the Director and VP of Finance and Risk.

Term positions are based on continued business need, CAA Atlantic reserves the right to extend or end early any contract position. Should the term position be terminated prior to the projected end date, CAA Atlantic will provide a minimum 30 days' notice.

Responsibilities
  • Management and development of a 3-person team.
  • Assisting with the management of the monthly and quarterly close process heavily focused on AP, accruals, fixed assets, inventory and deferred revenue. Including the preparation and review of various journal entries.
  • Lead the team on the continued management and integration of NetSuite into our legacy system.
  • Reconciliation and review of various balance sheet accounts.
  • Oversight of the inventory process including purchase orders, item transfers, receipts, data maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Assisting with the preparation and review of payment runs and vendor management.
  • Assisting with the generation of financial statement package for VP and executive team.
  • Assisting with the completion of year end external audit.
  • Contribute to the development, monitoring and enforcement of policies, procedures and internal controls in consultation with the Director of Finance and Vice President of Finance and Risk.
  • Complete AR invoicing and process related payments. Follow up on past due receivables monthly.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in an intermediate to senior accounting role within a medium to large organization.
  • Extensive, experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
  • Experience creating and managing budgets for a medium-sized, distributed organization.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite of products.
