Disability Management Specialist (Health Nurse)

As part of the team, the Disability Management Specialist focuses on creating a psychological and physically safe work environment and is responsible for the development, promotion, implementation and measurement of a wide spectrum of total health programs aimed at educating and supporting employees.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Oversee employee participation in disability management programs such as Short-Term Sick Leave, Long-Term Disability, WorkSafeNB, Accommodations, Attendance Management, and Fitness for Duty.
• Validate leave requests, conduct regular follow-ups, and support successful return-to-work processes.
• Maintain compliance with applicable legislation and company policies/procedures.
• Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of employee files.
• Track and analyze program outcomes to identify corrective actions and improve effectiveness.
• Work closely with employees, supervisors, union representatives (IBEW), and third-party providers to administer leave programs effectively.
• Plan and implement internal communication strategies to educate leaders and employees about disability management programs.
• Develop and facilitate supervisor training sessions as part of the Power Up program and other leadership development initiatives.
Conditions of employment:
• Completion of internal training on site at Point Lepreau and at the Head Office location.
• Willingness to work in proximity to radiation.
• Willingness to travel to Point Lepreau site on a regular basis.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• A degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience OR two-year diploma and a minimum of 8 years experience in Disability Management, Occupational Health, Health Sciences or a related field.
• Any of the following would be considered an asset:
o Minimum of 2 years of experience in Disability Management
o Nursing Degree (BN)
o Certification in Disability Management, Occupational Health, Mental Health First Aid, or related areas.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
Due to security requirements at Canadian Nuclear facilities, the successful candidate will require a Site Access Security Clearance which includes verification of background information, references, a Criminal Record Name Check and a Canadian Security Intelligence Service security recommendation.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
