Position Summary
The Department of Diagnostic Radiology in Saint John, New Brunswick, is seeking a Business Manager to support and partner with its radiologists and clinical leadership. This is a newly created role, designed to address a critical operational and strategic gap within the department. It is not a replacement position.
Reporting closely to the Department Chief and Clinical Leadership Team, the Business Manager will serve as a trusted accountability partner, operational leader, and strategic advisor, helping modernize, optimize, and position the department for long-term success.
This role is ideal for a self-starting, strategic professional who thrives in complex healthcare environments and is motivated to make a meaningful impact in diagnostic imaging services.

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology in Saint John, New Brunswick provides essential imaging services in support of patient care across the regional health system. The department works closely with clinical partners, hospital leadership, and administrative teams to deliver high-quality, timely diagnostic services in a complex and evolving healthcare environment.
Clinical & Leadership Support
- Act as a primary business and operational partner to the Department Chief and radiologists
- Provide strategic, operational, and administrative support to clinical leadership
- Serve as an accountability partner in achieving departmental goals and performance targets
Operations & Administration
- Oversee day-to-day departmental operations, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and quality
- Manage administrative functions, policies, and reporting
- Support physician scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization
- Oversee radiology billing processes, reimbursement optimization, and financial performance
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue cycle efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with finance, scheduling, and administrative teams to streamline processes
Process Improvement & Innovative Industry Leadership
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives across clinical and operational workflows
- Identify inefficiencies and implement evidence-based solutions
- Leverage best practices from other radiology departments and healthcare organizations
- Support departmental modernization, including digital transformation initiatives
- Maintain strong awareness of radiology industry trends, including imaging technologies and AI-enabled interpretation tools
- Support exploration and adoption of innovative approaches to image interpretation and workflow enhancement
- Act as a liaison with vendors, partners, and external stakeholders as needed
Advocacy & Health System Navigation
- Navigate and support interactions within the broader health network
- Engage in advocacy, lobbying, and relationship-building to advance departmental priorities
- Represent the department with professionalism and credibility at internal and external forums
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred but not required.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience in healthcare operations or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in business process improvement and health systems.
