Human Resources Officer

As part of the Attraction & Retention team, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for collaborating with clients and leading talent acquisition processes to build a workforce that is passionate and committed to offering the best customer experience, ensuring energy security and accelerating a sustainable clean energy transition.
Key functions include:
- Timely execution of all internal and external staffing processes in compliance with relevant legislation, collective agreements, policies and processes. These activities include items such as preparing job ads, developing sourcing strategies (including attending career related events), defining selection criteria, conducting screening, leading qualifications appraisal boards, conducting assessments, verifying credentials and extending employment offers.
- Responding to inquiries from senior management, union, employees and the public concerning topics such as but not limited to recruitment policies, procedures, processes, job applications, applicant candidacy and labour market information.
- Completing process related documentation such as memorandums, recommendations, offer letters, process metrics and other recruitment related documentation.
Our ideal teammate will have:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a field relevant to Human Resources such as business, social / behavioural sciences or other relevant concentration. Those with a diploma will require two years of additional related work experience.
- Two years of relevant recruiting experience, including familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft)
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Advanced proficiency in both English and French is a requirement for some of the positions
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Proficiency with social recruitment platforms (e.g., LinkedIn) would be considered an asset
In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate must also be a strong team player, demonstrate the ability to multi-task, thrive under pressure in a fast-paced customer-focused environment and communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Criminal Record Name Check.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
