SCHEDULE: Day, On Call, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Corporate Director of Laboratory Services, the incumbent supports the management and supervisory team in all activities, in accordance with the Provincial Health Plan and the Network's Strategic Plan. As part of their mandate, they are involved in strategic execution, coordinating priority projects and implementing the operational plan (work plan). In addition, they contribute to the management of human, financial and material resources, and support training and research. Working closely with the corporate director, the incumbent may be entrusted with different mandates depending on operational needs. They participate in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, coaching and performance evaluation of managers. As part of their duties, they must travel within the Network to support colleagues in four geographical zones (13 facilities), as required.
Vitalité Health Network's Laboratory Services provides high-quality testing and analysis services in the following disciplines: phlebotomy, receiving and handling, biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, histology, cytology, transfusion medicine, point-of-care testing, and molecular genetics. Laboratory Services also manages the provincial clinical genetics program and the New Brunswick Public Health Laboratory. Laboratory Services' activities are carried out by a workforce of over 450 employees.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Diploma in a health field;
- Undergraduate degree in administration or graduate certificate in health services management or administration (definite asset);
- Any other combination of relevant training and experience deemed equivalent;
- Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (NBSMLT) (asset);
- Minimum of five years' experience in a health care management position;
- Eight to ten years' experience in the health care field;
- Experience in supervising and managing staff along with strong coaching skills;
- Proven knowledge and experience in laboratory services, including developing and implementing processes;
- Proven knowledge and experience in project management and process improvement;
- A combination of training and experience deemed equivalent may be considered;
- Good knowledge of IT tools and office software (Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook) and ability to use them effectively;
- Demonstrated transformational leadership style;
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks;
- Recognized management skills, including planning, program development and evaluation, conflict resolution, human, financial and material resources management, and problem-solving and analysis;
- Ability to use evidence-based data in decision-making;
