A TYPICAL WEEK:
Working as part of a dynamic and dedicated Commercial Lending team, the FSOI is responsible for the administration of the commercial loan portfolio. They work closely with managers, solicitors and lending partners in the ongoing maintenance of the commercial lending portfolio. They also provide specialized commercial mortgage administrative and project support to the Commercial Lending department; high quality customer service to clients and credit unions; and promote and cross-sells existing and potential clients on the benefits of using other LSM/AC and /or credit union products and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and processes commercial loan renewals, interest rate blends and early renewal requests. Completes Rate determination form and follow up with s members/credit unions for signed documents, review terms offered, determine solutions to retain business and identify refinance or new opportunities.
- Prepares loan disbursements and coordinate with underwriters, clients, credit unions, brokers and solicitors to ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant before funding. Process advances, including calculating progress draws/holdbacks and setting up repayment terms.
- Verify, post, and balance business transactions including account openings, disbursements, renewals, payouts. Prepare and balance journal sheets and work with Accounting to resolve reconciliation issues.
- Review final security documentation received from lawyers, ensure completeness and accuracy, and request corrections as needed before finalizing security files.
- Identify lending or deposit opportunities and cross sell relevant LSM and and credit union products and services.
- Participates in cross-training and maintain up to date procedures for the role. Support departmental objectives.
- Completes other duties and projects assigned.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
As the ideal candidate you will have successfully completed a Diploma in Business Administration plus have 3-5 years relevant lending and/or commercial administration experience in a financial institution; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
COMPENSATION:
This is a permanent position and is rated a Salary Level CU-5 with a salary range $59,490- $69,988. LSM offers a competitive benefits package as well as the opportunity to participate in the Performance Sharing Incentive Plan.
LOCATION:
This position will be based in our Halifax, NS office, and provides services throughout Atlantic Canada, therefore offers the ability to work remotely as required.
TRAVEL, EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK:
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work.
