Job Summary
Report to the Director of Provincial Capital Planning, Infrastructure & Engineering for Western Zone. Assist in planning and supervision of large and small projects involving health facilities and other infrastructure systems from concept definition to post implementation. A core function of this position is communication with key stakeholders, within the RHA, such as healthcare providers, management, administration and technical staff. Responsibilities will also include identifying areas where planning, engineering and architectural solutions are needed. This will include the identification of infrastructure problems, conducting or managing feasibility studies, problem definition, overseeing the development of effective planning and design solutions and measuring effectiveness. You will engage consultants and others to resolve infrastructure issues. Responsible for reviewing design tender packages, coordinating the tender process, review of contractor bid prices, and developing contract documents for signature. Once a contractor is engaged, you will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, coordinating between contractor, consultant and clinical groups, as well as various internal departments as required throughout the course of construction. You will oversee the commissioning and closeout process, as well as ensure proper training is provided to any internal departments.
Job Qualifications
Education
A baccalaureate degree in Engineering (civil, electrical, industrial or mechanical) or architecture is required.
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) would be considered an asset.
Experience
Three (3) years? experience within the last five (5) in project management, estimating, scheduling, construction management, and contract law is required.
