Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

You will join a multi-discipline team working in a project environment to design and implement modifications to modern electrical systems. This position will engage you in:

• Electrical analysis, design and tender preparation;
• Preparation of project proposals (capital & operating);
• Preparation of engineering reports;
• Technical operations support;
• Equipment trouble shooting/investigation;
• Preparation of project estimates, schedules and resource requirements;
• Application of new technologies and products;
• Project management.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with members of various teams;
• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities

What You'll Need:

• Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical) - other equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
• You will be eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL);
• A limited license to practice in the appropriate area through PEGNL will also be considered;
• Experience within a utility environment in the area of Terminal Station or Generation (Thermal, Hydro, Gas Turbines or Diesel) will be an asset for this position;
• Project management experience or certification;
• Proven communication, team and leadership skills;
• Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid driver's license;
• Willingness to travel.
