Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
You will join a multi-discipline team working in a project environment to design and implement modifications to modern electrical systems. This position will engage you in:
- Electrical analysis, design and tender preparation;
- Preparation of project proposals (capital & operating);
- Preparation of engineering reports;
- Technical operations support;
- Equipment trouble shooting/investigation;
- Preparation of project estimates, schedules and resource requirements;
- Application of new technologies and products;
- Project management.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with members of various teams;
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities
What You'll Need:
- Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical) - other equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered;
- You will be eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL);
- A limited license to practice in the appropriate area through PEGNL will also be considered;
- Experience within a utility environment in the area of Terminal Station or Generation (Thermal, Hydro, Gas Turbines or Diesel) will be an asset for this position;
- Project management experience or certification;
- Proven communication, team and leadership skills;
- Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid driver's license;
- Willingness to travel.
