We are searching for a Chauffeur to join our Parkland Truro team based in Truro, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
- Transport residents to appointments or outings as per the transportation schedule
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of respecting resident's rights, including: respecting others, maintaining confidentiality, promoting independence, respecting privacy, respecting the right to refuse services and involvement
- Communicate with the Health Services Department if there is a noted change in the medical status of the resident e.g., increased confusion
- Aid residents as required with: entering and exiting the vehicle, mobility aides/devices e.g. canes, walkers; carrying parcels or other items, opening doors and entering buildings
- Maintain vehicles in peak operating condition and carry out all prescribed routine maintenance functions while maintaining accurate maintenance log records
- Schedule regular mechanical tune-up with authorized service shop
- Carries out all prescribed routine vehicle maintenance functions.
- Maintains accurate records of patient transportation and vehicle servicing e.g. records for gas, minor repairs, or servicing.
- Schedules regular mechanical tune-up with authorized service shop.
- Keeps all vehicles used for patient transportation services well maintained and clean.
- Cleans off snow or debris from Parkland or resident owned vehicles as required.
- Inspects workspace regularly for hazards.
- Assists with snow removal on walkways.
- Assists in the maintenance of our grounds and garden.

- Additional duties as required.
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- A high-school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 1 year working experience as a Chauffeur
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods training is required
- A clean driving record with a Class F Driver's license is required
- Ability to provide a clear Driver's abstract
- Current First Aid & CPR certification is required
- Knowledge of the federal, provincial and municipal safety and traffic laws and regulations
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
