Hours: Mon-Fri Rotating-0700-1500/ 1500-2300 (40 Hrs/week)

Job Description:

Security Supervisor Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising and administering on-site guards and other assigned duties.
  • Work closely with LSO staff and take direction from management as directed by CSM.
  • Provide ongoing support to staff on security-related issues.
  • Respond to calls for service and incidents; perform operational duties as assigned.
  • Set and achieve individual and team objectives within the Security Department.
  • Monitor day-to-day staff performance and attend staff meetings.
  • Test guard staff quarterly on Post Orders or other relevant information.
  • Train security staff as required; ensure training checklists are completed and submitted.
  • Maintain and organize staff records (training, applications, disciplinary, licenses) and provide to Security Manager upon request.
  • Review logs and patrol reports daily; provide summaries to CSM/Management.
  • Conduct audits of equipment (radios, keys, Guard Tour devices, CCTV, storage, computer systems) and provide records.
  • Ensure staff complete accurate incident reports promptly.
  • Supervise incident response and debrief major incidents for improvements.
  • Ensure patrol schedules are followed; conduct spot checks in person or via CCTV.
  • Protect safety of persons and property; prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and trespass.
  • Enforce parking rules (tag/tow unauthorized vehicles, call contractors for snow removal).
  • Restrict access to secure areas to authorized personnel only.
  • Complete interior/exterior patrols; document conditions, safety concerns, and weather.
  • Monitor security consoles (access control, elevators, CCTV).
  • Verify visitor and employee identification.
  • Respond to alarms; complete incident reports, logs, and daily reports.
  • Issue and control access cards and keys; lock/unlock doors as scheduled.
  • Report unusual incidents or hazards; maintain incident logs.
  • Manage lost and found property.
  • Assist with managing aggressive visitors and provide high-level customer service.
  • Attend events/incidents that may jeopardize facility security.
  • Assist with prevention and management of illicit substances/weapons; secure items until TPS arrives.
  • Document all events in notebook or electronic report.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (3–4 hours)

Qualifications:

  1. Must have minimum 2 years of Supervisory Experience in the Security Industry or equivalent
  2. Must have minimum 3 - 5 years of experience working in Security
  3. Must have a valid Ontario Security Guard License
  4. Must have a Valid STANDARD First Aid and CPR Level – C from a WSIB-approved provider
  5. Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  6. Must be willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
