Envision Saint John (Agency) is the Saint John Region's lead economic development and visitor attraction agency, tasked with sustainably growing our economy and population. We are governed by an independent Board of Directors and actively supported by the municipalities that are our key funding partners - Saint John, Quispamsis, Rothesay, Grand Bay-Westfield, Hampton, Fundy-St. Martins, and the Fundy Rural District.
Envision Saint John is a convener, bringing together diverse stakeholders to develop a shared economic vision. We function as an economic intelligence hub, gathering and interpreting economic data that informs strategic decision-making. We work as an innovation accelerator, creating platforms and support mechanisms that help businesses and entrepreneurs start up and scale up. We are storytellers, crafting compelling narratives that attract visitors and new residents and reveal the region's economic potential to local, provincial, national, and international audiences.
Role Description
As Workforce Growth Coordinator, you will bring experience in workforce development to support strategic initiatives that shape the region's talent landscape. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in workforce planning, learning and development, or stakeholder engagement. You'll work collaboratively across teams and with external partners to advance projects, provide insights, and help drive impactful decisions. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of the local workforce ecosystem, including its challenges, opportunities, and key players. Your experience in HR business practices will enable you to provide valuable guidance and act as a navigator to partners across sectors. You'll help connect the dots between workforce needs and solutions, always through a lens of collaboration and community impact.
What you will do:
- Lead and support workforce development initiatives aligned with regional priorities.
- Act as a trusted partner to employers, service providers, educational institutions, and community organizations, navigating and connecting within the workforce development ecosystem.
- Transform data into insights to inform the development of strategic talent initiatives, workforce planning, presentations, and briefings.
- Provide strategic oversight for workforce-related events such as recruitment fairs, career expos, trade shows, and summits.
- Collaborate across the agency to integrate workforce expertise into broader economic development strategies.
- Other duties as may be called upon from time to time.
Your qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in workforce development, HR business partner, or a related strategic role.
- Understanding of the labour market and workforce ecosystem in the Saint John Region.
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in contributing to community impact.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, engage stakeholders, and build partnerships.
- Comfortable working with data, identifying trends, and translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly and work independently.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- English essential-both written and verbal. French and other languages will be considered an asset.
