As part of the Energy Control Center (ECC) Operations Engineering team, the Power System Operations SCADA/EMS/DMS Engineer provides specialized engineering support to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the New Brunswick electric power system. They support the Transmission and Distribution control room through the transition and sustainment of a modern grid.

Key functions include:

• Maintaining and providing technical support on the SCADA/EMS system and ADMS to ensure the system's functionality and reliability
• Providing real time technical support to the ECC Power System Operators and ECC Operations Engineers to ensure regulatory and operational criteria are met
• Creating and providing training for the ECC Control Room Operators on SCADA/EMS/DMS related topics

In your application, please highlight the following requirements for this role:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Registration, or eligibility for Registration (within 90 days of hire), as a Professional Engineer or Member in Training in the Province of New Brunswick
• One year of work experience in one of the following areas (having work experience in more than one of the following areas would be considered an asset):
o Electrical system drawings or one-lines
o Field commissioning of high voltage electrical apparatus
o Design and commissioning of network communication systems
o Working with a SCADA system or a generation facility DCS system
o Using a data historian for retrieval of archived data (e.g. Aveva PI system)
o Direct job responsibilities for mandatory regulatory requirements (NERC, NB EUB, CNSC)
o Programming with a high-level language using object-oriented programing concepts (e.g. C, C++, VB Python, etc.)
• Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office Excel and Word

Due to security requirements, the successful candidate will require a Site Access Security Clearance which includes verification of background information, references, a Criminal Record Name Check and a Canadian Security Intelligence Service security recommendation.
