We are Veri Media Work Ltd., a media company with an international focus. We publish books and organize webinars and online conferences with international participants from the fields of health, family, horticulture, business, and politics.
Our company headquarters are located at Suite 202 - 811 Reeves Street, Port Hawkesbury, Inverness, Nova Scotia, B9A 2S4, Canada. We are looking for a qualified and experienced financial manager (NOC 10010). This is a temporary position with a term of 3 years.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the finance/accounting and controlling department, including planning, administration, and control in an internationally active media company.
Further development and implementation of financial guidelines, systems, and procedures in accordance with applicable financial laws
Coordinating annual financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses, as well as financial management reports in close cooperation with tax advisors and auditors
Coordinating financial planning and the budget process in close consultation with senior management
Reporting to senior management on the efficiency of financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, and investment activities, and making recommendations for improving existing procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions
Responsibility for recruiting, organizing, training, and managing employees
Reviewing investment activities for profitability and setting profitability standards
Notifying and reporting to management on all trends that are critical to the company's financial performance
Coordinating international online conferences and communicating with interview partners.
Evaluating and preparing profitability reports
Knowledge of tax law in Canada and other European countries is required
Profitability calculation within existing profit centers
Skills/Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience as a finance manager (or in a similar position)
The company has an international focus; many customers, service providers, and contacts are located in German-speaking Europe.
In addition to very good English skills, good written and spoken German skills are also an advantage.
Good knowledge of existing double taxation agreements and international invoicing is expected
Flexibility in processing due to different time zones
Educational requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or finance required

This is a full-time position with a term of 3 years and a weekly working time of 30 hours.
Salary:
The qualified candidate will receive an hourly wage of CAD 50.97.
