Join our team as a Senior Accountant - Operations at Atlantic Lottery! In this role, you'll be the subject matter expert for cost allocation and operational accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial processes. You'll manage end-to-end accounting flows, maintain system integrity, and provide strategic insights that support corporate goals. This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to partner with stakeholders to optimize processes and deliver accurate financial results.

Salary band: $75,200 - $122,200. A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 at the time of this posting. (Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, training and internal equity).
Work Location: Moncton, NB preferred. Halifax, NS, may be considered.
- Onboarding: Full-time in-office for the first 6 months, based in Moncton, NB preferred.
- After Probation: You can choose to either continue working full-time in the office or switch to a hybrid model, coming into the office 2-3 times a week.
What You'll Do
- Financial Accounting: Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses to ensure transactions are complete, reliable, and compliant with IFRS and tax rules.
- Reporting & Analysis: Develop and review internal and external reports; respond to ad-hoc requests for financial information.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze monthly results, identify risks to corporate financial targets, and recommend corrective actions.
- Profit Allocation (SME): Ensure accuracy of profit allocation and compliance with shareholder agreements; respond to ad-hoc requests for profit allocation.
- Financial Systems: Optimize Oracle eBS and related systems; troubleshoot issues and ensure alignment with accounting standards.
- Current Assets & Cash Management: Maintain prepaid accounts and support cash management functions.
- iExpense: Supporting the business through iExpense training and ad-hoc iExpense questions.
- Operational Support: Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance team performance.
- Compliance & Documentation: Monitor legislative changes and update processes to maintain compliance.
- Prize Claim: Backfill for prize claims to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with standards of all Prize Claims.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting.
- CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience with a strong analytical focus.
- Experience with IFRS standards and financial systems such as Oracle eBS, Hyperion, and Microsoft BI is an asset.
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Must be 19 years of age or older to apply
- Must reside in Atlantic Canada
