Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Sancton Group Inc. to recruit a Business Development & Operations Manager - NB / PEI to join their Sancton Access team and lead operations out of Saint John, New Brunswick.

Role Description:
The Business Development & Operations Manager - NB / PEI will be responsible for the overall performance and growth of Sancton Access' New Brunswick and PEI territory. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, as well as maintaining operational excellence, and lead business development efforts to grow market presence. Further, you will represent Sancton in the local construction market, building and maintaining relationships with contractors, project managers, and industry partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support a safety-first culture by ensuring all branch operations comply with relevant regulatory, union, and internal safety standards;
  • Oversee the daily operations of the branch, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance, while simultaneously fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture;
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through client meetings, cold calls, networking, and industry associations, representing the company professionally within their region;
  • Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with current clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business;
  • Monitor branch metrics, including revenue, margins, utilization, and safety;
  • Continuously assess operational needs, identify gaps, and implement logical cost-effective solutions;
  • Maintain a strong and current understanding of scaffolding and access product lines, supporting project teams with technical insight and troubleshooting as needed;
  • Participate in strategic planning and annual branch budgeting/forecasting discussions in collaboration with the leadership and ownership team.

Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are a proactive, relationship-focused leader with a strong understanding of the construction industry in New Brunswick. You have demonstrated success in leadership roles where no two days look the same, and are able to balance client, operational, and team management effectively.


Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of experience in scaffolding, access solutions, or general construction operations, with strong knowledge of industry practices and safety standards;
  • Proven leadership experience managing crews, field teams, or project staff in a fast-paced, multi-site environment;
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and profitability management;
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including scheduling, resource planning, troubleshooting, and client coordination;
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, unions, suppliers, and internal teams;
  • Experience with estimating, tender review, and contract analysis, supporting accurate proposals and operational execution;
  • Commitment to health, safety, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to lead safety initiatives and participate in inspections and investigations;
  • Proficiency with technology and digital tools, including smartphones, tablets, and basic software applications used for reporting and administration.
