Alderwood is a 70 bed Nursing Home/Residential Care Facility. Our building has 6 separate home areas;
five home areas for Nursing Home (11 or 12 beds) and one home area for Residential Care (11 beds). All
are private rooms with private bathrooms.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Cook/Baker. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our dietary services, focusing on high-quality meal preparation and food safety. The ideal candidate will have a background in the food industry, with experience in cooking/baking.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and resident dietary guidelines.

Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.

Handle food items with care, ensuring proper storage and handling techniques are followed.

Participate in kitchen maintenance tasks, including cleaning and organizing work areas.

Requirements:

Previous experience in the food service industry, including restaurant or kitchen settings.

Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for handling food items.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and dietary needs of residents

Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff and residents.

Must Have:

Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Background Check

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Reliable transportation

Pay: $22.09 - $24.55 per hour

Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
