Job Summary

The physician will join an established group of Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists who work within the multidisciplinary teams of the Mental Health and Addictions Program and collaborate extensively with pediatricians within the Children and Women?s Health Program. This position includes opportunities for:

  1. Consultation and collaborative care to Eastern Health facilities including the Tuckamore Residential Treatment Centre.
  2. Inpatient and outpatient child and youth mental health services within the hospital and the steadily expanding local community.
  3. Hospital work would involve psychiatric assessment and treatment of patients up to the age of 18.
  4. Participation in the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry on call system.

Interests in shared care, medical quality and efficiency, program development, administrative responsibilities and clinical teaching would be assets to the successful applicant.

Required Qualifications

  • To be considered candidates must hold a MD
  • FRCPC (or equivalent) in Psychiatry and a subspecialty certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Applicants must be eligible for licensure (full or provisional) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Hours of Work: Full-time - 75 hours bi-weekly plus on-call obligations.

Remuneration: Salary for this position will be commensurate with the level of experience and to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for salaried physician. MOA
