We are searching for a Client Services Assistant to join our Parkland Antigonish team based in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
- Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment
- Assists in the provision of social, spiritual, and intellectual activities for residents
- Cleans resident rooms, server and household common areas
- Check laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, etc. and repair as required or inform Supervisor if permanent damage.
- Monitor, fill and replenish supplies in resident's suites, nursing units, and washrooms;
- Empties/cleans waste bins in resident's suites – move waste to designated trash area;
- Ensure personal health and safety by taking every reasonable precaution in all circumstances
- Understand role, and participate in the testing process for emergency response;
- Follows safety, environmental and infection control practices as per facility policies.
- Provides input for Wellness Consultation meetings as requested;
- Reports areas and equipment in need of repair to a supervisor;
- Participates in the resident and employee incident reporting and investigation process as required;
- Completing all duties in a way which is consistent with Shannex's Philosophy of Service: Your life. Your choice. Your Home
- Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor.

About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Home/Personal Support Worker program, Special Care Home program, Health Care Aide or Human Services program, or equivalent
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple work assignments while displaying a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality service
- Adheres to the Standards of Nursing Practice, Code of Ethics, Registered Nurses Act and Regulations as defined by provincial legislation
- Current knowledge of community resources (e.g., services and programs), and roles of health care professionals
- Able to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Education in Alzheimer's and Dementia Care is considered an asset
- Completed Back in Form Lift and Transfer Program is considered an asset
- Proof of valid CPR & First Aid Certification is considered an asset.
