Job Description:
Working on assigned shifts, the Ground Transportation Guard – Taxi and Limo will oversee and manage the safe and orderly pick-up of customers using the Toronto Pearson Taxi and or Limousine services. The safety and security of all Airport occupants is paramount to Paladin Security's success. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period of time in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold…etc.)
• Manage the flow of passengers into authorized vehicles through the inner curb-side location.
• At all times, assist, communicate and update the passenger with commercial vehicle status and/or inquiries when applicable.
• Assisting and coordinating passenger queuing.
• Deliver the expected service in a consistent, predicable and courteous manner to both passenger and the driver.
• Identify and report commercial vehicle activity that contravenes the GTAA Rules and Regulations and Conditions of Permits for taxicabs and limousines.
• Maintain proper thresholds (number of vehicles required) for each terminal curb.
• Dispatch vehicle(s) to Arrivals curb as necessary to ensure equal wait times.
• Make arrangements for special vehicle requests; e.g. Wheelchair Accessible vehicles, Oversized Vehicles…etc.
• Accurately monitor wait times of guests during peak times and provide a daily Peak Period Passenger Count and wait times.
• Assist with implementation of inclement weather line up, doubling passengers when required.
• Ensure work area is clear of obstacles including baggage carts at all to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain communications at all times with fellow Security Guards, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.
• Respond immediately to any emergency and co-ordinate response accordingly based off established procedures.
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client; GTAA.
• Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards/ concerns noted during patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible.
• Be courteous, and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Maintain the highest standard of security at all times, being professional in attitude, appearance and application.
• Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures. Ensure they are being conducted within the limitations of any federal, provincial and municipal laws.
Represent Paladin Security, The Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation of Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Prerequisites:

  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Pervious Customer Service Experience required
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB Certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
  • Authorized to legally work in Canada
