Purpose

This role combines passion for creative video production with strong organizational skills. The Manager, Video Production is responsible for managing creative operations and aiding creative video production that builds pride and drives impact through asset management and video editing. In close collaboration with the team and communications partners the Enterprise Creative Studio provides full-service creative production for Internal & External communications. With a solutions-driven attitude they are creating thoughtfully without losing sight of commercial realities, budgets and business objectives. This may involve working with Scotiabank clients, coordinating third party vendors, managing updates and improvements to technology solutions and ensuring risk assessment procedures are adhered to, execute appropriate avoidance or mitigation strategies, and escalate as required.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Enables effective production of creative projects through creative studio operations:
  • Content management of Scotiabank image bank; Growing a library of creative assets including video footage, photos and related files for use by team and stakeholders.
  • Creative evaluation, post-processing of videos, photos and other assets, metadata management, creative request management; ensuring rights & licensing compliance and that system confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Supporting technical management of images, video clips with regards to collecting, sizing, colour correction accuracy and final file format for specified media.
  • Organization and maintenance of production studio, equipment and resource scheduling.
  • Supporting budget, supply, vendor and expense management. Track relevant video performance metrics and deliver analytics reports.
  • Management of video hosting platform, vendor relation and video archive.
  • Impacting the studio team's quality through program initiatives and improvements; pro-actively contributing to efficiency enhancements including implementing automation.
  • Identifying and solving problems during production process; handling exceptions and risk management.
  • Manages Creative Studio Video projects for Scotiabank Group clients:
  • Editing video content with creativity and precision, ensuring alignment with narrative goals, brand standards, and audience expectations.
  • Crafting compelling visual stories by selecting the strongest takes, refining pacing, and integrating graphics, music, and sound design to enhance impact.
  • Learning about the Bank's strategic priorities and objectives to make informed editorial choices.
  • Meeting with internal clients & stakeholders, analyzing and accurately interpreting user requests/requirements, establishing project goals
  • Working closely with the team and communicating changes to critical users, including senior management.
  • Organizing and manage media assets, project files, metadata and version control to ensure smooth workflows and easy access for team members, following the Bank policies, compliance, standards and ensuring that system confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Broadening creative and technical capabilities and staying current with professional video standards, concepts and technologies
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions

  • Receiving briefs from Senior Producer and Director as well as working directly with client on feedback and revisions. Working in tandem with other team members on creative execution, fulfillment and distribution.
  • Countries / regions / business units supported: Global scope, but majority of the creative development & execution will be Canada based.
  • Number of projects: Across the team approximately 200 projects in F2025.
  • Financial dimensions: Program Budget administration including operating budget, freelance and vendor costs and project budget allocation.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have the following:

  • Degree in Broadcasting, Film, Video production or related studies.
  • 5+ years industry experience managing creative production operations and working experience as an video editor in professional broadcasting, agency or in-house environment.
  • Passion for the craft of storytelling and communication with well-rounded understanding of video editing, graphics and music.
  • Solid technical knowledge including video, photo and audio acquisition, digital technology and editing software, asset management (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Experience Manager)
  • Solid understanding of asset management, file management and rights implications, project management applications.
  • Solid footing on the line between creative expression and commercial reality.
  • Demonstrates a learning mindset that strives for new, better, more innovative results.
  • The ability to work on complex projects collaboratively and independently, within tight deadlines, adapt to changing deadlines and deliver material as per workback schedule.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills to clearly communicate the complexities and components of any project to external suppliers and internal groups.
  • Confident interpersonal skills with client focus and ability to work with technology vendor, peers and customer staff at all levels.

Working Conditions

  1. The position is carried out in a recording studio environment, which presents low risk of injury or il health from physical or environmental factors. Moderate travel domestically or working offsite maybe required. Non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
  2. The environment in which the incumbent works is characterized by its fast pace. Frequent changes in priorities and activities on concurrent projects may result in high stress levels on periodic basis.
  3. The Role is required to use a MAC from 32-37 hours per week under normal working conditions. Concentration is needed to review and edit video and audio content.
