Seeking a motivated, hard-working individual to fulfil the role of medical office administrator and office manager.

This is a full time position in Quispamsis, New Brunswick with hours of Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, and Fridays 8:00am-12:00pm.

The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively, maintain a high professional standard, particularly regarding confidentiality/privacy and in interacting with marginalized and racialized groups. They will be strong in verbal and written communication, have strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and discretion as well as compassion and sensitivity to patient needs. They will be able to remain calm under pressure, prioritize work well, and adapt to changes in priority. The successful applicant will be able to assert good judgement and problem-solving skills. They will be proficient using technology and the electronic medical record software for the purposes of scheduling, billing and navigating the patient chart. Strong organization and customer service skills are an asset in this role.

The ideal candidate will have achieved their medical administration certificate with additional work experience in a medical health care setting and will be familiar with medical terminology.

Duties include:

· Responding to and triaging calls from patients

· Scheduling appointments

· Greeting and rooming patients

· Obtaining weight and blood pressure readings when indicated

· Sanitizing patient care areas

· Fielding patient questions and requests

· Completing patient requisitions at the request of the physician

· Performing other administrative duties including maintaining equipment and office supplies, photocopying, filing, faxing, printing, distributing mail

· Data entry of test results, consultant reports and imaging reports onto patient charts

· Communicating with other physicians' offices, the hospital and Medicare on behalf of the physicians

· Billing Medicare, communications with department of family medicine, completing forms for locum physicians

· Completing invoices for insurance companies and other third parties

· Keeping inventory of office supplies, medical equipment and vaccinations and ordering/purchasing needed supplies and picking up vaccinations from community pharmacy

· Assisting physicians with procedures and setting up procedure trays

· Liaising with outside parties and troubleshooting technological issues with phone, internet, electronic medical record, etc.

· Documenting accounting records for office expenses and employee hours

· Office laundry (to be done on-site)

· Picking up office mail and distributing to physicians

· Operation of autoclave to sterilize medical equipment and quality assurance

· Dropping off swabs and medical specimens to KV Health services

· Maintaining procedural records for the running of the office and common trouble-shooting solutions

· Periodically reviewing chronic care billing codes for Medicare
