Electrical/Instrumentation Planner

This position will work closely with Supervisors, Long Term Asset Planning, Plant Engineers, Engineering Services and Managers to prepare all work packages to support the safe and reliable operation of the Holyrood facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect the work site, define the scope of the work, review history files, note any relevant information and address recurring maintenance issues.
- Prepare and maintain work packages considering: staffing, technical support, required materials, environmental and safety concerns, tools and equipment, suitability of received materials and equipment, work protection, special permits and notifications, and post repair/follow-up activities.
- Provide cost, performance and resource information, etc. to management as required.
- Support all Plant Maintenance scheduling activities on a daily/weekly basis.
- Review completed work orders to ensure proper work completion, follow-up activities are captured, and that maintenance history is accurate and complete.
- Initiate PM's for repetitive activities and ensure the PM Program is maintained.
- Receive feedback, investigate problems and implement corrective measures towards continuous improvement of the planning and scheduling process.
- Initiate planning standards development where required.
- Maintain the JD Edwards work order database (within the responsibility scope of the Planner).
- Monitor work order backlog levels and notify management of undesirable trends such as uncontrolled growth or insufficient backlog work.
- Adds quality to the overall maintenance management process and ultimately to plant production.
- Provides detailed maintenance planning and scheduling services. Required to ensure the availability of labour, material, work protection permits, special permits, and special tools and equipment to allow the maintenance staff to execute their assigned work duties.
- Coordinates all aspects of work between the Work Execution and Operations groups towards maximum equipment availability, efficient use of resources, timely maintenance service considering operational priorities, maintaining an accurate work order database and associated information.
- Ensures compliance with the Corporation's ISO 14001 Program, and compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures.
You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in maintenance and planning, knowledgeable of the set-up, operation and maintenance of a large maintenance management system, as well as knowledge of JD Edwards, Microsoft Suite of Applications and Primavera would be considered an asset.
- You must have proven experience as a team player, with excellent communication skills, and familiarity with the capabilities and uses of a computerized maintenance management system.
What You'll Need:
- You have successfully completed a three (3) year Instrumentation Engineering Technology program and/or three (3) year Electrical Engineering Technology program with a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in an industrial environment.
- Candidates with an Industrial Electrician Red Seal Certification and relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Other combinations of qualifications and related experience may be considered.
