Overview:
Central Zone is currently accepting applications for the permanent full-time position of Regional Manager of Patient Flow. This role will require collaboration between clinical leadership, program managers, directors, and physicians across multiple sites. You will be responsible for managing patient flow, monitoring appropriateness of admissions and placements, coordinating resource activities to ensure appropriate resources are available to meet patient care requirements for access to care and timely discharge. This role also works closely with the Integrated Capacity Management team. The manager will primarily work to execute and lead the improvement of goals and strategic priorities as they relate to improved access and flow.
Key Responsibilities:
? Leadership in Patient Flow: Provide leadership for patient flow across Central Zone, ensuring care is delivered at the most appropriate location.
? Coordination Across Acute Care Sites: Collaborate with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary team members, and physicians to ensure timely access to care and discharge.
? Program Development & Oversight: Ensure appropriate admissions, length of stay, transfers and repatriations occur using best practice guidelines and benchmarking. Facilitate team/unit/program-based huddles, monitor and measure inputs and outcomes associated with EDD, ALC, LOS and other quality metrics associated with access and flow. Facilitate the use of visual management systems and dashboards that are associated with access and efficiency across the care continuum.
? Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to improve patient flow, reduce wait times, and enhance the overall patient experience. Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
? Transformation & Innovation: Challenge the status quo, encourage innovative solutions to improve patient care, and champion organizational change in response to evolving healthcare needs.
? Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the healthcare system to ensure appropriate service delivery and patient outcomes. This includes, but is not limited to, program managers and staff in acute care. Community support and long-term care managers to facilitate timely access to appropriate care. Partnership with the provincial clinical efficiency program.
Required Qualifications:
? A Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline is required.
? At least 5 years of progressive leadership and management experience in healthcare or a related field
? Experience in clinical efficiency/patient flow is preferred
? Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to function autonomously and make evidence-based decisions.
? Transformational leadership style with experience in driving process improvements and empowering individuals and teams.
? Demonstrated ability to network and collaborate with diverse programs and stakeholders.
? Ability to travel within the Central Zone and beyond as required.
? Current registration/licensure in the relevant professional association is required.
? A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.

Additional Information:
This is a regional position, and the primary work locations will be determined based on operational needs, with travel required across the Central Zone and potentially beyond.
