FACULTY OF BUSINESS
The UNB Saint John Faculty of Business (FOB) offers a 12-month intensive MBA program and a Bachelor of Business program with industry backed specializations, numerous experiential learning opportunities, and a CEWIL accredited co-op program. The faculty, in collaboration with other UNB units, manages admissions, program advising, student engagement, experiential learning, curriculum development, alumni relations and community engagement.

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Dean of Business, the Manager of Integrated Student Experience and Retention plays a pivotal role in enhancing the student success, satisfaction and retention. This position provides the strategic direction to student support services, community building initiatives, and outreach efforts to create meaningful experiences for all business students. It also oversees a dedicated team of full-time and term staff involved in employer engagement, student development, and student experience.

  • Develop, implement and maintain an integrated strategic plan to enhance the overall experience and retention of students; oversee team outputs through comprehensive work plans; and monitor related performance indicators.
  • Develop and manage feedback mechanisms to enhance student retention and community involvement.
  • Maintain personal and institutional currency with respect to competitive trends and best practices for optimal student satisfaction and retention.
  • Do market intelligence research on trends in student experience, and prepare performance dashboards for the Dean.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and expansion of the portfolio of extra-curricular activities.
  • Design and implement a communication strategy to tell compelling success stories about student experiences and community partnerships.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Collaborate with P&C and other departments to recruit, onboard and retain top talent.
  • Develop and implement a proactive succession plan and peer-training for the team to be sustainable over time.
  • Collect data on student satisfaction and improve policies, processes and programs accordingly.
  • Coordinate with the stakeholders involved in experiential activities for business students, from orientation to graduation.
  • Lead the organization of strategic social events, networking opportunities, and professional development activities that foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among students, alumni, faculty and staff.
  • Work with business student clubs and societies to support their actions and maximize their impact.
  • Provide organization and communication support to initiatives that are organized by business faculty, staff or student clubs.
  • Collect data and lessons learned from events involving students, external partners and sponsors.
  • Create and maintain an integrated database of community supporters and partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Master's degree in business administration/management (MBA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in student experience management, admissions or related roles in post-secondary education, preferably involving both graduate and undergraduate programs.
  • Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate strategic plans.
  • Track record in relationship development and community engagement.
  • Project Management, Business Development/Sales and/or Professional Communications experience would be an asset.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with the ability to promote a welcoming and supportive campus climate for students, faculty and staff asset.
