Who we are:
The employees of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development develop programs and provide services that support parents and educators and help learners aged 0 to 20 acquire sustainable and transferable skills they will use throughout their lives.
What you will do:
This person will work on writing and implementing teaching resources that highlight First Nations perspectives while building strong, trusting relationships with the Elders' Council and other Indigenous partners. They will also support pedagogical officers responsible for curriculum in updating programs so that they reflect First Nations perspectives.
Key responsibilities of the position are:
- Plans, develops, and implements teaching resources that highlight First Nations perspectives
- Supports the implementation of the education plan
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with the Elder's Council and other Indigenous partners
- Plans, develops, and delivers various training and professional development programming
- Supports pedagogical officers responsible for curriculum updates, as well as school district partners
- Mobilizes teaching resources

Need to have:
- A master's degree in education and a minimum of six (6) years of teaching experience in an inclusive public education system from kindergarten to grade 8
- In-depth knowledge of First Nations and primary-level pedagogical approaches
- Ability to support and train teaching staff
- Ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with diverse Indigenous partners
- Skills in collaboration and development of teaching resources
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

Wage:
Pay Band 7 - $93,210 - $112,788 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: Place 2000, 250 King Street, Fredericton, NB
- Possibility of remote work within New Brunswick
- Travel within the province will be required
- Teamwork is encouraged
- Regular working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Reduced use of scented products in the workplace is encouraged
